About the Cover Artist: Artist MRI by Lindsey Holcomb
Lindsey Holcomb, a self-taught, multi-disciplinary artist, is the founder of the #ColorsofMS project—the mission of which is to raise multiple sclerosis awareness through the universal lens of art by transforming diagnostic MRI into vivid paintings while sharing diverse patient journeys and advice. Lindsey’s work is heavily informed by her own epilepsy and multiple sclerosis diagnosis and her Japanese-American heritage. Elements of kirigami and kintsugi are often incorporated in her works in ink and cyanotype printing and in her collages.
Lindsey holds a BA from the University of Oregon in Japanese and Asian Studies and has a certificate in Intercultural Business Communication. She works as a grants coordinator for the non-profit Golden Road Arts and is a member of the faculty of the 2023 Tualatin Valley Creates Arts and Culture Incubator. Lindsey is represented by the Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery, Grey Raven Gallery, and ArtLifting. Her work has been featured in Health Magazine and Brain & Life Magazine and is held in private collections across the US and 13 countries.
