About the Cover Artist: Apple and Bloom
Sue Gardon was born in France, and moved to California as a child. She met her husband while in graduate school at Yale, raised 2 daughters, and had a career in nursing. Over the years, Sue enjoyed hiking, camping, and swimming, absorbing the beauty of nature that she would bring into her paintings. Sue’s paintings are full of bold colors and confident brush strokes and reflect her vibrant personality.
The painting on the right and featured on the cover was created by Sue when she participated in the ArtFull Dementia Studio, a program of Elderwise in Seattle, WA. The Elderwise mission is to enrich the lives of caregivers and adults living with dementia through teaching and demonstrating the Elderwise philosophy and practice of Spirit-Centered Care through arts-based adult day, outreach, education and online programs. Visit the Elderwise Program and the ArtFull Dementia Studio at www.elderwise.org.
