Ethan Meltzer, M.D., is a board-certified neurologist in UT Health Austin’s Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Center within the Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences. He specializes in assisting patients with multiple sclerosis and other related neuroimmunologic diseases, including neuromyelitis optica, transverse myelitis and autoimmune encephalitis. Additionally, Dr. Meltzer is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Neurology and serves as the program director of the Neurology Residency program at Dell Med.

Dr. Meltzer earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He completed both an internship in internal medicine and residency in neurology through Harvard Medical School at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology at the Dell Medical School.

Dr. Meltzer is a renowned educator and head of the neurology residency program. He is the author of an internationally published book on teaching the clinical method in neurology. In addition, his research focuses on multiple sclerosis and other neuroimmunologic disorders using the visual system to better understanding these diseases. Lastly, he helps lead the Dell Med neurology global health collaboration through AMPATH Kenya.
