Expanded Eisai Initiative will Provide Nutrition Resources for People with Dementia and Their Care Partners

06/03/2026

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • The Magnolia Meals at Home program has been expanded to provide nutrition-focused resources for people living with Alzheimer disease and related dementias.
  • The program includes brain-healthy recipes, meal-planning support, and disease stage–specific nutrition considerations.
  • The initiative was developed by Eisai in collaboration with CaringKind to address daily mealtime challenges faced by families and care partners.

Eisai (Nutley, NJ) has expanded its Magnolia Meals at Home program to support people living with Alzheimer disease and related dementias (ADRD) and their care partners through a new initiative developed in collaboration with CaringKind (New York, NY). The program, originally created for households affected by cancer, now offers practical nutrition resources intended to help families manage mealtime as part of day-to-day dementia care.

Magnolia Meals at Home for ADRD includes easy-to-prepare brain-healthy recipes, meal-planning guidance, tips for maintaining healthy eating habits across stages of cognitive health, and suggestions for supporting independence and enjoyment during meals. Eisai and CaringKind will formally recognize the initiative at CaringKind’s 30th anniversary Forget-Me-Not Gala on June 8, 2026, in New York City, during Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month.

What the Program Provides

  • Brain-healthy recipes designed for everyday use.
  • Guidance on nutrition considerations across different stages of cognitive health.
  • Tips to help support independence, routine, and enjoyment at mealtimes.
  • Local events intended to increase awareness and help families use the resources.

The announcement cites the growing need for daily supportive resources in ADRD care. According to the 2026 Alzheimer’s disease facts and figures report, an estimated 7.4 million Americans aged 65 years or older are living with clinical Alzheimer dementia. As ADRD progresses, cognitive and physical changes can make food preparation, appetite maintenance, and independent eating more difficult, creating practical challenges for both individuals and care partners.

The program is also framed within broader interest in lifestyle and brain health. Eisai cited findings from the US POINTER study (NCT03688126), published in JAMA, in which structured multidomain lifestyle interventions that included nutrition were evaluated for effects on global cognitive function in older adults at risk for cognitive decline.

Magnolia Meals at Home for ADRD is part of Eisai’s broader Magnolia programs, which the company states are intended to support patients and families beyond clinical treatment.
