American Headache Society Scholarship and Abstract Award Submission Deadline Approaching

The American Headache Society (AHS) is currently accepting applications for multiple scholarship and abstract award opportunities. Recipients will receive complimentary registration for the 67th Annual Scientific Meeting of the AHS in Minneapolis, MN, where abstract award winners will have the opportunity to present their work as a special lecture. Abstract submissions are due by 11:59 pm CST on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, and scholarship applications are due by 11:59 ET on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

The AHS is currently accepting applications for the following 2 scholarship opportunities:

  • Frontiers in Headache Research: Eligible applicants include headache medicine fellows, residents, and/or postdoctoral fellows involved in basic or clinical research related to headache or cranial nociception. Recipients are required to present their research proposal or results at the 67th Annual Scientific Meeting and will receive a stipend of up to $1000 for travel expenses as well as 1 year of AHS Trainee membership.
  • 2025 Runnin’ for Research Advocacy: Eligible applicants include any neurology resident whose career goals align with the mission of AHS and include health advocacy work. Preference is given to applicants from Miles for Migraine participating cities. Applicants must submit a ≤100-word summary of their interest in attending an AHS meeting, a CV, and a letter of recommendation from a training director, department chair, or AHS member. Recipients will have the option of attending either the 67th Annual Scientific Meeting or the 2025 Scottsdale Headache Symposium. Additionally, recipients will receive a stipend of up to $2000 for travel expenses and 1 year of AHS Trainee membership.

The following 2 abstract award opportunities are also currently accepting submissions:

  • 2025 Harold G. Wolff Lecture Award: Eligible manuscripts will discuss headache, head or face pain, or the nature of pain itself. Award recipients will receive $10,000 in addition to complimentary meeting registration, hotel accommodations for 4 nights, and travel expenses for the 67th Annual Scientific Meeting.
  • 2025 Early Career Lecture Award: Eligible recipients include authors within 10 years of completing their graduate medical education or terminal research degree who have written a manuscript about headache, head or face pain, or the nature of pain. Award recipients will receive $7,500 in addition to complimentary meeting registration, hotel accommodations for 4 nights, and travel expenses for the 67th Annual Scientific Meeting.

Abstracts submitted for both award opportunities will be reviewed by the editorial board of Headache, the journal of the AHS, and selected manuscripts will be published in an upcoming issue.
