AHS Research Grant Deadline for QI Proposals Extended
The deadline for submitted proposals to the American Headache Society (AHS) Quality Improvement Competitive Grant Program has been extended to January 7, 2025. An AHS expert review panel will consider proposals submitted by organizations for projects of up to $375,000 that will result in new information or tools to improve health care services for people with headache. Proposed projects must have a planned timeline of ≤2 years, and only AHS members who were selected to submit proposals based on their previously submitted letters of intent (LOIs) are invited to apply.
The funding for the Improvement Competitive Grant Program is sponsored by Pfizer (New York, NY), with the aim of contributing to the AHS’s goal of improving the lives of people living with headache disorders, including migraine. Areas of interest for proposals detailed by the AHS include safety, efficacy, and efficiency of diagnosis and proper treatment for headache disorders, as well as patient-centered care and equity. The AHS specifies that the funding is not intended to support clinical trials or laboratory science.
Eligibility criteria include:
• Location in the United States or Canada
• AHS membership for the applicant
• Grant recipient status as an organization, rather than an individual or medical practice group
• Applicant status as the Project Lead or Principal Investigator or authorized designee of these roles
• Applicant status as an employee of the requesting organization
Multidisciplinary collaborations are encouraged, and the AHS has expressed a specific interest in projects that include an overt description of system-based changes to measurably improve headache care.
