NFL Players Wear Cleats to Support Muscular Dystrophy Association
During the “My Cause My Cleats” campaign, which took place during the first 2 weeks of December, several National Football League (NFL) players wore custom-designed cleats to support causes important to them. Nyheim Hines, 2024 Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) National Spokesperson and Cleveland Browns running back led players in wearing cleats to support and represent the MDA.
Hines was joined by Raheem Blackshear and Nick Scott of the Carolina Panthers. The athletes wore their custom cleats and represented the MDA during games in weeks 13 and 14 of the NFL season. By wearing their cleats, the players intend to raise awareness of the MDA’s mission and support families of people with neuromuscular disorders, including muscular dystrophy and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). According to a statement from the organization, cleats worn in support of the MDA will be auctioned, with proceeds used to benefit research, care, and advocacy efforts.
“Nyheim Hines is not only our National Spokesperson but part of the MDA family, with a personal connection to our mission through his loved ones,” said Morgan Roth, Chief Marketing Officer of the MDA. “Joined by Raheem Blackshear and Nick Scott, these players are turning their platforms into powerful tools for awareness and support. We’re honored to stand alongside them in the fight against neuromuscular diseases."
