New CEREGLIDE Aspiration Catheters for Ischemic Stroke Launched in the United States
The CEREGLIDE 42 and CEREGLIDE 57 aspiration catheters (Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick, NJ) have been launched in the United States, along with the INNERGLIDE 7 delivery aid (Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick, NJ). The CEREGLIDE devices are intended to access distal vessel occlusions and support clot removal within a multi-axial system, with INNERGLIDE 7 functioning as a delivery aid to assist in advancing the large-bore aspiration catheters to distal clot locations.
CEREGLIDE 42 and 57 are large-bore aspiration catheters constructed with a variable-stiffness design to balance flexible distal navigation with proximal support. According to the company, the devices incorporate a hydrophilic coating to reduce friction during navigation, with a radiopaque tip marker to enhance fluoroscopic visualization. The CEREGLIDE line of aspiration catheters now includes 3 sizes: 42, 57, and 71.
